Carolyn is a native Virginian, born in Washington, D.C., and raised in Falls Church, Virginia. Her first novel, The Cicada Spring: A Potomac Shores Novel, is immersed in the places she lives and loves, from the Occoquan River to the shores of south Florida’s Intracoastal Waterway. She is a professional marketing and technology copywriter and has published travel articles as a contributing editor for National Geographic Traveler magazine and children’s nonfiction as a senior editor for National Geographic World magazine. She graduated from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, with an English degree and is completing an MFA in fiction writing from Lindenwood University.
