December 2025 Meeting: Magazine, Journal, & Anthology Publishing

In lieu of a holiday party this year, member Darius Jones, NVWC Social Media Coordinator Allie Nelson, and NVWC President Carolyn McBride will share their experiences and tips on magazine, journal, and anthology publishing. Darius’s stories and poems have appeared in Strange Horizons, The No Sleep Podcast, Star*Line Magazine, and other places. Allie is a multiple Pushcart Prize-nominated author whose work has appeared in The British Fantasy Society, Apex Magazine, ILLUMEN, Eternal Haunted Summer, Renewable Energy World, Frontiers in Health Communication, The National Science Foundation, Luna Station Quarterly, Prismatica Press, Coffin Bell, FunDead Publications, and many other venues. Carolyn, whose work has appeared in the Sea of Tranquility anthology, will share recommendations on how to approach journal publishing from her MFA program. They will provide tips on finding the right fit for your story and strategies for submitting your piece for publication.
