    4. Officer’s Reports
      1. President & Website Coordinator Carolyn McBride
        1. Call for new Treasurer
          1. J. George has stepped down as Treasurer and board member but will remain active member of club; seeking a mid-year appointment for someone to fill the position of Treasurer – quick summary provided of role requirements. A.J. clarified some IRS requirements for record keeping and reporting.
        2. Call for Board Member-at-Large – New role to fill fourth voting member of board which is vacant with Treasurer resignation. Board will appoint member at large.  At annual meeting next year, it will become a position that is voted on by the Board.
          1. Isabelle Missud questioned position requirements and Jason Maddux provided details. Isabelle volunteered as Board candidate.
        3. Bylaws review and vote led by Board Chair Jason Maddux.
          1. Amendments first shared January meeting for review.
          2. AJ George motioned to delay vote/approval of updates to refine bylaws based on nonprofit status.
          3. Tom DeWitt seconded.
          4. Motion failed in member vote.
          5. Marissa Naggi motioned for vote on amended bylaws.
          6. Isabelle Missud seconded.
          7. Change of bylaws approved by vote of at least 2/3 members present.
      2. Vice President & Community Manager Marissa Naggi – Request to keep contributing to online community, join the Morning Write Ins.
      3. Secretary Stacey Porcaro – Nothing to report.
      4. Membership Chair Isabelle Missud – 142 members, eight new members since last meeting; plan to purge non-returning members after one more email reminder.
      5. Event Coordinators: Lois Wren, David Wessel, Kate Goggin, Patricia DiVecchio
        1. Lois Wren – Barnes and Noble doing well
        2. David Wessel – Absent
        3. Kate Goggin – Day Drift Book and Café – Crystal City. Explained size of venue, scheduling May and June, sales 100% profit to author, signings every Saturday from 1-4. Open to have readings but first working with consistency of Saturdays.
        4. Patricia DiVecchio – provides snacks for meetings, if want anything different let her know.
        5. Social Media Coordinator Allie Nelson – moderating Facebook feed, posts conferences and writers events
        6. Golden Nib Coordinator Lori Eaton – submissions open, Virginia Writers Club offering writers workshop, all info on website

    7. Business from the Floor
      1. Tom DeWitt motioned for a committee to review bylaws based on IRS and changes since becoming nonprofit. The committee is to present suggestions to the board by May 31.
        1. Seconded by Marissi Nagi.
        2. Approved by 2/3 vote of members
        3. Gaea Honeycutt and AJ George volunteered to assist with review.
        4. Tom DeWitt suggested a date of May 31 to present suggestions to the board.
      2. Michelle McBeth coordinates Teen Golden Nib Freshman thru Senior submissions. The Teen Nib is run by the State Club with more information on their website.
    8. Featured speakers: Darius Jones, Allie Nelson, and Heidi Hess on publishing in journals, magazines, and anthologies.
